Community Animal Response Team (CART) Introductory Training- Session 2

This is the second in a series of four webinars which comprise the introductory community animal response training.  This training is offered by the Colorado Veterinary Medical Foundation's Animal Emergency Management Program and open to all interested community members who wish to become involved in local animal emergency response operations.  This webinar will cover:
  • Introduction to Animal Emergency Response
  • Bio-Safety and Zoonoses

This two day workshop provides hands-on instruction on first aid techniques which disaster responders can apply until more advanced veterinary help can be found.
 
Participants learn how to identify and treat common disaster-related injuries, illnesses, and conditions; how to distinguish animals who need advanced care from those who need first aid, as well as those who pose a threat to other animals and to people; and what not to do in order to minimize harm to the animal.
